Robotics and automation software

Connect machines and operational data to the rest of your business.

A machine can produce useful information without making it available to the people who need it. Operators may still record readings by hand, maintenance teams may lack a shared history, and production systems may sit apart from business applications. We develop software for collecting, exchanging and using that information alongside your equipment suppliers.

Begin with the equipment and its constraints

We review the interfaces available on the machines, controllers and sensors involved. Network access, supported protocols, update frequency and the operating environment affect what can be connected and how. We agree these boundaries with the people responsible for the equipment.

The scope may be data collection, monitoring, a supervisory interface or a connection to maintenance and business systems. Changes to machine control need a separate, explicit agreement with the responsible supplier.

Turn readings into useful operational information

We define what each reading means, how it relates to a machine or job, and which records should be retained. A dashboard becomes useful when a team can connect an event to the equipment, time and work involved.

For a monitoring service, we agree alert conditions and who should receive them. We also consider what happens when connectivity is lost and whether information needs to be stored locally until it can be sent.

Test without assuming the workshop is a test environment

Testing and deployment are planned around the operational setting. Where possible, interfaces are exercised with sample data or a test environment before changes reach working equipment. The team responsible for operations participates in acceptance.

Documentation covers the connected assets, configurations and support boundaries. Software integration does not replace the machine supplier's responsibilities for hardware, commissioning or the equipment's safety requirements.

What you receive

  • Equipment interface review and agreed integration scope
  • Data collection and processing software
  • Monitoring views and agreed alert rules
  • Test plan, deployment notes and support boundaries

A good fit when

  • Machine data is recorded manually or not used
  • Maintenance and business systems lack equipment information
  • Teams need a shared view across several connected assets

Common questions

Do you supply robots or other hardware?

Our offering is software. We work with your equipment and hardware suppliers to establish the available interfaces and the responsibilities of each party.

Can you work with existing machines?

We first check their supported interfaces and the supplier's requirements. Some equipment exposes useful data directly; other equipment may need additional hardware or supplier involvement before software integration is possible.

Does this include changing safety-critical controls?

That is not an assumed part of a data or monitoring project. Any control changes need a defined scope, appropriate specialist involvement and agreement with the parties responsible for the equipment.
