Business applications
Software built around the work your business needs to do.
When a team has to move the same information between spreadsheets, emails and several systems, the problem is rarely a lack of effort. The tools no longer fit the work. We build business applications that bring those tasks into a clearer flow, whether that means an internal tool, a customer portal or a product you plan to sell.
Start with the work, not the screens
We begin by following a real task from start to finish. Who enters the information? Who checks it? Where does it wait, and what happens when something goes wrong? These conversations help separate the essential requirements from features that can wait.
Typical applications include booking and scheduling, order handling, customer accounts, approval processes and reporting. The scope depends on your business; a useful first version does not need to replace every tool you have.
Build a system that fits the rest of your business
An application needs more than a good interface. We plan its connections to existing systems, the information each role can access and the records needed to understand important changes. We also decide how it will be tested, deployed and supported.
We review working versions with your team as development proceeds. Trying a real workflow is more useful than approving a long feature list: it shows where the design needs to change before those decisions become expensive.
Make the handover part of the plan
Before release, we agree who will operate the application, where it will run and how support will work. Documentation should explain the everyday tasks as well as the technical setup, so your team knows how to use and maintain what has been built.
Further development can continue with us or be handed to your own team. Repository access, account ownership and responsibilities belong in the agreement from the start.
What you receive
- Agreed workflows, scope and interface designs
- Application and connections to the agreed systems
- Tests, deployment instructions and role definitions
- Documentation and an agreed support or handover plan
A good fit when
- Your team keeps entering the same information in several places
- An existing product cannot support an important part of your process
- Customers or partners need access to a service under your brand
Common questions
Should we build custom software or buy an existing product?
We look at that before recommending a build. An existing product may cover the need well. Custom development makes more sense when the workflow, integrations or ownership requirements are difficult to meet with available tools.
How do you estimate the cost and schedule?
We need to understand the main workflows, integrations and constraints first. We then define a manageable scope and estimate that work. A prototype or technical investigation can help resolve uncertainties before a larger commitment.
Can you work with our internal development team?
Yes. We can take responsibility for an agreed part of the system or work alongside your team. We agree the review process, delivery responsibilities and documentation so the work fits your existing practices.
