Managed operations
Ongoing care for the software your business relies on.
Launching a system does not remove the work of running it. Dependencies change, backups need checking and small issues can become difficult when nobody owns them. We provide ongoing technical care within an agreed scope, with clear responsibilities for maintenance, incidents and further development.
Establish what we are taking responsibility for
We begin by reviewing the application, infrastructure, access and available documentation. For a system built by another team, we need to understand its condition before agreeing an ongoing support arrangement.
The agreement identifies the systems covered, support hours, contacts and the distinction between routine maintenance and development work. Any response targets depend on that agreement; they are not assumed from a general service description.
Keep routine work visible
Maintenance can include monitoring, dependency updates, configuration checks and backup review. The scope reflects the environment and the work your team already covers. Changes are assessed and tested rather than applied without considering their effect.
We record completed work and issues requiring a decision. Where restoration is in scope, we plan checks of the recovery process, because the existence of a backup file does not show how quickly a system can be restored.
Connect support to the next improvements
Incidents and recurring support requests often reveal where a system needs attention. We maintain a prioritised list of technical and usability improvements so your team can choose what to address next.
Responsibilities for your suppliers and internal team remain explicit. If the arrangement ends or another team takes over, the relevant configuration, records and operating instructions should be available for handover.
What you receive
- Initial review and clearly defined support scope
- Agreed monitoring and maintenance activities
- Incident handling and recovery instructions
- Maintenance records and prioritised improvement list
A good fit when
- An important system lacks an active maintenance owner
- Your previous developer or supplier is no longer available
- Your team needs ongoing help operating an application
Common questions
Is support available around the clock?
Support coverage and response arrangements must be agreed for the particular service. A standard maintenance description should not be read as a promise of continuous on-call coverage.
Can you take over software another company built?
We can assess it when the required code, access and rights are available. The review establishes whether support is practical and what stabilisation or documentation is needed first.
Does maintenance include new features?
The agreement defines that boundary. Routine upkeep and incident work differ from a new feature or a larger change; we agree how development requests are assessed and scheduled.
