Data pipelines and integration

Get the right information from its source to the people who need it.

A report should not depend on someone downloading files and running a script every morning. We build and improve data pipelines that collect information, apply agreed transformations and make problems visible when a source changes or stops delivering. The aim is a process your team can operate with confidence.

Define the destination and the timing

We agree what the information will be used for, which sources are required and how fresh it needs to be. A daily management report and an operational service have different requirements; the schedule and implementation should reflect that difference.

We inspect available interfaces, permissions and source formats. Historic data, changing records and deletions need explicit handling rather than being left as surprises during the first load.

Make transformations understandable

Cleaning, combining and reshaping data should follow documented rules. We separate the original information from the transformed outputs where the design requires it, and add checks for the conditions that would make those outputs unreliable.

We consider repeat runs and recovery from partial failures. The team should be able to understand what was loaded, what was rejected and whether a rerun could duplicate or change records.

Operate the pipeline after the first successful run

A pipeline needs attention when its source, volume or business rules change. We include scheduling, relevant alerts and useful logs, then agree who responds when a run fails or the data is late.

Documentation covers the dependencies and the recovery process. We also review operating costs and the work involved in maintaining connectors, rather than treating the initial implementation as the whole service.

What you receive

  • Source connections and documented processing rules
  • Scheduled or event-driven data flows
  • Quality checks, run records and freshness monitoring
  • Recovery instructions and operating responsibilities

A good fit when

  • Reports depend on manual exports or personal scripts
  • Data loads fail without anyone noticing
  • Teams need information from several sources in one place

Common questions

Can you improve pipelines we already have?

Yes. We review their sources, transformations and operating history, then identify the most useful changes. Monitoring or clearer failure handling may be enough to address an immediate problem.

Can the pipeline run in our existing cloud?

We assess the services and access already available in your environment. The choice should fit the data requirements, your team's skills and the responsibilities for ongoing operation.

What happens when a supplier changes its data format?

We plan checks that can reveal unexpected changes and document how they should be handled. A supplier's changes may still require maintenance, so the support arrangement needs to account for that work.
