AI strategy and readiness

Decide where AI is useful before committing to a tool or a build.

There may be good opportunities for AI in your business, but a long list of possible use cases is not a plan. We help you examine specific tasks, the information available and the people affected. The outcome is a set of practical options, including where ordinary software or a process change would be a better choice.

Look at tasks people actually spend time on

We speak with the teams doing the work and follow representative examples. Where is information difficult to find? Which documents need reading? Which decisions require judgement, and what would a useful result look like?

We consider the cost of mistakes as well as the time spent on the task. A convenient draft and an automated decision need different levels of review and different ways to measure success.

Check the conditions for a workable solution

We review access to the required information, its quality and the systems a solution would need to connect to. We also identify questions about permissions, supplier arrangements, human review and responsibility for ongoing operation.

An opportunity is assessed against those constraints. The recommendation should explain what is known, what still needs testing and which assumptions affect the expected benefit and cost.

Choose a test with a clear decision at the end

A useful pilot has a specific task, representative examples and an agreed way to judge its output. We define what a person must check and what would make the team stop, change the approach or continue into production.

The resulting plan covers the test scope, likely dependencies and the work still needed after a successful trial. A demonstration alone does not settle the questions of reliability, adoption and support.

What you receive

  • Assessment of selected workflows and available data
  • Prioritised opportunities with assumptions and constraints
  • Questions requiring technical or specialist review
  • Pilot scope, evaluation criteria and next-step options

A good fit when

  • You need to turn interest in AI into a practical plan
  • A trial has produced a demonstration but no clear next step
  • You want to compare AI with simpler alternatives

Common questions

Do we need to organise all our data first?

No. The assessment can establish what is available and what each proposed use would require. Some opportunities may be ready to test while others depend on improving the underlying information.

Will the assessment always recommend an AI project?

No. If a task can be handled more clearly with an existing tool, a rule-based process or a smaller software change, that belongs in the recommendation.

Can you estimate the business benefit?

We can work with your team to build an estimate from the current process and stated assumptions. A pilot is then used to test the important assumptions; the estimate is not a promised result.
